Q1 Do you think any further information should be included in the overview of the area?

Any future site should be the subject of a rigorous traffic impact assessment. There should also be research into the impact on surrounding villages and infrastructures, as to drainage/flooding,damage to bridges, etc. Nineteen years is a long time and situations change, therefore the forecast should be reviewed at least every five years.

Q2 Do you agree with the draft vision? Are there other things we should include?
Representation ID: 30340

Impact on the environment and biodiversity is very important. There should also be a discussion regarding the use of recycled materials and aggregates in building, and the impact that will have on the amounts of new minerals required. Also, the future of the sites should be addressed. Where farmland is used, will it be returned to farmland?

Q4 Do you think the average 10 year sales figure is the most suitable methodology for forecasting future demand in Nottinghamshire? If not please identify any alternatives
Representation ID: 30342
Received: 12/01/2018
Respondent: Averham, Kelham & Staythorpe Parish Council
Why use a ten year sales figure with a nineteen year plan? We would question the frequency of reviews, they should be held more often, say every five years, so there is current, up-to-date data to back up the plan.

Q8 How important is it to maintain a geographical spread of sand and gravel quarries across the County to minimise transport distances
Representation ID: 30348
Received: 12/01/2018
Respondent: Averham, Kelham & Staythorpe Parish Council
Obviously it is preferable that loads have a minimal distance to travel, but as Nottinghamshire provides sand and gravel for markets outside the county, this may not always be practicable.
