Minerals Local Plan Issues and Options consultation

Representation ID: 30250

Received: 10/01/2018

Respondent: Mrs Diane Stokes

Representation Summary:

Prioritizing safeguarding the environment, wildlife and ecosystems should have greater weight. The planet is undergoing a 6th extinction event, losing hundreds of species of flora and fauna through anthropocene influence. If we have any hope of stemming this tide and achieving a sustainable presence on this planet, we need to prioritize the environment and reduce our overall footprint in all planning decisions, starting now. Loss of any further natural habitats, agicultural land or greenbelt to housing and industrial development should be a matter of greater concern. Without the support of a diverse ecosystem, we, as a species will not survive.
