Draft Nottinghamshire Minerals Local Plan
Representation ID: 31130

CAGE strongly supports the siting of mineral developments close to their market and the need for sustainable modes of transport to be used where possible. It urges local authorities to support the safeguarding, preservation and expansion of sustainable transport infrastructure. This is necessary both for material being sent from the site and for inert fill to reach the site to enable the best possible restoration scheme.
In paragraph 3.44, the supply of newly generated power station ash will cease with coal-fired electricity generation in 2025. New inert fill materials will need to be developed, and sourced, preferably close to sites.
