Draft Nottinghamshire Minerals Local Plan

Representation ID: 31137

Received: 28/09/2018

Respondent: Mrs Jackie Armstrong

Representation Summary:

The most recent East Midlands Aggregates Working Party Report of 2015 states that understanding of the availability of secondary and recycled aggregate is still poor. NCC should encourage the collection of more robust data. With the projected end of coal-fired electricity generation, power station ash and other inert fill for restoring quarry voids become a critical resource that should be safeguarded. Without the ability to regenerate higher proportions of land surface after gravel extraction our county, its landscape and agricultural resources will be eroded at an ever-accelerating rate.
