Draft Nottinghamshire Minerals Local Plan

Representation ID: 31150

Received: 28/09/2018

Respondent: Mrs Jackie Armstrong

Representation Summary:

Increased HGV traffic flows can be a significant deterrent to traffic on foot, cyclists and riders, preventing access to amenities. Large minerals sites (both operational and after 'restoration' to water) can represent barriers to the movement of people as well as to wildlife. Although officially 'temporary', quarry lifetimes can be long in relation to the lifetimes of people. Staged and early grants of public rights-of-way are one small way they can pay back the local community for the adverse impacts they cause.
