The policy should also secure adequate facilities to process mineral to ensure a steady supply of material throughout the plan period this will also prevent large landbanks of reserves in few sites.

Mineral restoration schemes provide a good opportunity to improve biodiversity but it is not the only approach to restoring a mineral site.
Mineral restoration should incorporate the principles of sustainable development, providing a beneficial afteruse for future generations.

As minerals can only be worked where they are found locating them next to growth areas may not always be feasible.
Mineral resources are often in rural locations therefore transportation can be challenging .
Support from the County Highway Authority would be welcomed to help the Industry utilise more sustainable transport modes where viable
