Page 20, paragraph 5 - The road links and junction designs in the Newark area (particularly the heavily congested A1 / A46 / A17 junction) are unsuitable for additional quarry traffic until substantial improvements have been made to support more HGV traffic. The single carriageway A17 already carries a high volume of HGV traffic to / from the Eastern ports, leading to delays and accidents at the junction with the A1 and A46.
